"Touching the Surface" was
published at "Simon Pulse" (New York) on 30 October 2012 and it has
336 pages.The cover is brilliant,I could say.I think the girl is Elliot,the
main character of the book,and around her there are origami cranes,as in the
book.It has a beautiful colour,purple and this colour happens to be my
favourite one.Elliot loves two boys,Trevor and Oliver,but she has to reveal the
truth about herself otherwise she will lose them both.It hink she doesn't want
to make a choice and that is what the cover presents.
Plot:
The story presents a girl,Elliot,who had died again
and again for three times.That's why she is a Third Timer.She arrives in
Obmil,the place where all the souls go after people die.Everything is fine,but
she finds she is a Third Timer from Mel,a girl who will help her to figure it
out what decisions she has to take.There,she meets a boy,Trevor,and finds a
secret who will change her opinion about him.They have to Delve together to
remind what they did in their past lifes.Then,she will find out that she didn't
suicide and she won't go to hell,but he did.For her.Why?Because he adored her
in the past life...But there was a problem:Elliot is in love,also,with
Oliver.Will she be able to make a choice?Will she lose them both forever?Or
not?
My opinion:
This book was brilliant.It's about love and
afterlife.That made me think that,when a human being dies,the soul might be
stocked between Heaven and Hell to be judged,or something like that.My religion
says that when somebody dies,he or she
will be judged by God and He will decide if the soul goes to Heaven or
Hell.That made me think seriously about what happens next,after we
die.Maybe,there is an Obmil,like in this awesome book,maybe not.I liked how the
author presented this amorous triangle and how Elliot is in love with two
guys,Trevor,who had died for her,and Oliver,the guy she killed by accident.And
no,she's not a criminal.That is why you should read the book.It will open you
mind about life,generally.
My experience:
This book deserves
5 star rating.It made me think about what happens next,if there
is,truly,an Obmil.If you read it,it will change your opinion about life and ,of
course,about afterlife.
